Accident

I was going to clean my room. This is my first day at the residence and I just bought all the cleaning gears on my way to the dorm. I could already see my residence just downhill. While inside my head, I was distracted by my ambition to get as many things done as possible on my first-day return on campus.
That was when I did not realize I had hit a steep slope. Or rather, I had realized how steep it was, but this caution was only a passing thought, quickly replaced by a misplaced curiosity to know if a skateboard could handle such a slope.
So when the skateboard slid over a ledge on the pavement, it was rocked out of balance completely while I reacted, in a mili-second, by jumping out of the board. Skateboard flew out and hit the ground swirling few circles. And I was in the mid-air: my leg, hip and ankle were stretched apart all in different directions while twisting in an impossible angle. Then I landed, first on my left foot then on my left knee. Three junctures in my left leg were feeling funny, being misplaced from their usual position. I wriggled on the ground, Adrenaline shot up, the sight became whitewashed (Even just writing this triggered pains in my front leg and psycho-physical trauma).
I knew right then that this is an unusual moment that I am experiencing; a thorough disturbance to the regular beats of my life. That outside my invincible ascension in studies and career is enveloped by the fragility of a human life. One thing goes wrong, and years’ effort could collapse before your eyes like a delicate Tibetan sand Mandala, at the end of its show, being swept by a single, casual sway of a broom.
(I kid you not, the above philosophizing was really coursing through my mind at the moment after landing on my knee. It was as if this takeaway message was prepared well advance, packaged like a gift, just waiting for a jolting accident, to be delivered to me, and unwrapped in me, all at once).

Anyway, I am now in the hospital, waiting to be put through an X-Ray. Lovely residence staffs and two kind ambulance care-takers took care of me. I feel quite fine now, and in few minutes, two friends  I just made yesterday at the residence will come and keep me accompanied. It is nothing but hopeful and peaceful now. And so much for cleaning my room.

[The result was in fact pretty bad: two broken bones and the knee also damaged. There would be another post for it]
